STAR plus characters share the side-effects of long working hours. Everybody works hard for their living and in order to make a name and place for themselves. But many times, we have to put in long working hours and this takes a toll on our health and lifestyle.
Shlok shares, “At times there is no choice but to put in long working hours, but if we keep doing this, it eventually takes a toll on us. We suffer from burn-out, exhaustion and irritation. Our health and family life also suffers as we are not able to spend time with family and relax. We need to try and maintain a balance and not over-work ourselves as it is not beneficial in the long run.”
Naitik adds, “In today’s times, there is so much pressure at office for everyone. No matter how hard we work, long hours tend to become a part of our lifestyle and office routine. But this eventually harms us and stresses us, both physically and mentally. At times, we just need to draw the line and stop pushing ourselves. We need to learn time-management and also to delegate. This will help us maintain a balance.”
Sandhya says, “As an IPS officer, I put in long working hours frequently. But we need to do so at times as it is part of the profession. Many times, we have emergency situations at night and it is our duty to be available at all hours. But we should still try to maintain a healthy lifestyle by sleeping well and eating on time as this will keep us going. We must ensure that we take care of ourselves, especially when we put in long hours at work.”
Long working hours can no doubt be stressful but we must find ways to combat this.
