[Zee TV Newsbox] Ratan Rajput wears her own silver jewellery to play Jhumri's role on Zee TV's Mela

Captivating audiences with her iconic portrayal of Laaliya in Agale Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, Ratan Rajput is currently seen in her second innings on Zee TV. Playing a Rajasthani character Jhumri in 'Rishton Ka Mela', Ratan is the complete opposite of her previous Bihari character.

The dainty actor is known to put in extra efforts to make her character look authentic on screen... and for 'Rishton Ka Mela', she has borrowed from her own personal wardrobe and jewellery collection to enact the role of a Rajasthani dancer 'Jhumri'. To make it realistic, the talented actor used her personal silver jewelry in the show and also went to many trinket stores to buy silver jewelry.  All good things come in small packages, well this adage fits perfectly on our lovely Ratan Rajput. Her perfection and sincerity towards her profession is what makes this petite actor a powerhouse of talent. Needless to say, the creative team of the show was mighty impressed with her involvement and preparation for her character.

Ratan says excitedly, "As soon as I was told that my look is going to be of a Rajasthani dancer, I went out shopping and bought some silver jewelry for myself besides using my own precious pieces. And I was very happy when the creative team agreed to my choice of silver collection to be used in the show. Personally, I love collecting silver jewelry and  so I enjoyed creating the entire look. Jhumri's character is just opposite of Lalliya and I am very happy to portray the role of a dancer. I had so much fun shooting for it."

Laced with nail-biting twists & turns, Deepika's journey will be an exciting roller coaster ride that will put her in touch with nine strong women who represent the nine avatars of Durga and together they fight the evil forces of the Sahukar (played by Anupam Shaym) with a mission of saving the Mela. The female characters are Jhumri (played by Ratan Rajput), Shanta Tai (played by Usha Nadkarni), Shruti (played by Adaa Khan), Naina (played by Shayantani Ghosh), Mother in law of Jhumri (played by Mona Ambegaonkar), Mandy (played by Farheena Parvez) Dhriti Bhatia and Gauri Khan. Amidst all the drama, Deepika's own love story reaches an interesting culmination.
